01⇑ Victorian Public Service List has 4 October 1833, but as he was baptised on 11 December 1831 and he was 21 on the Fanny passenger list, I had assumed that the birth year was 1831. However, Francis Augustus Hare, in his book The Last of the Bushrangers, says that McCormick and he shared the same birthday - 4 October 1830. The book The Jarvis Family (Case, Lockwood and Brainard, Hartford, 1879) also has 4 October 1830 on page 105, though 1836 on page 61,
02⇑ McCormick's middle name is spelled with EI in most sources and IE in some. His will, written in his own hand, has EI.
